New bank design at the Tölzer Taubenloch

Since the spring of 2021, a new "rock spot" has given the people of Tölz the opportunity to sit at the Taubenloch directly on the Isar River as it flows by. Visitors can now sit comfortably on boulders and stomped concrete seating walls on the flattened inner-city riverbank. From there, they can enjoy the view across the Isar to the opposite river bank and the Isar bridge. Previously, a steep embankment and a beech hedge made access to the water difficult.

In addition to the access to the water, a new path structure made of water-bound surface and concrete was realized in the public park. For this, fixings by means of ground anchors screwed into the ground were used in part to protect the root system of the existing trees. The foundations of the stamped concrete seating mews also rest on such ground anchors. By being anchored, the little walls in the shoreline area resist the regular overtopping that occurs during flood events.

In addition, the existing playground is now significantly enlarged, and the stairs up to Calvary have been completely rebuilt.
