New additions RiemHotels

The new hotel building complex with two inner courtyards, in parts designed as roofed patios, is located west of the Neue Messe München, opposite of the Messesee, an artificial lake accentuating the entree to the exhibition center.

The design includes several roof gardens as well, amongst others a roof terrace at the wellness area. The different levels from ground floor to roof top each get their own design, creating individual atmospheres.

The inner courtyards both get a consistent natural stone paving, its linearity loosened up partly by wide gravel joints. Planting areas, arranged like inlays, add shades of green and white. Additionally, Katsura trees (Cercidiphyllum japonicum) with multiple trunks make a special display.

Inside the small patios circular an arrangement of rust colored seating blocks and planters with Japanese maples (Acer palmatum cultivars) create a particular atmoshere. The circular form derives from the round skylights and is continued in the planting areas on the roof of the Northern courtyard. Perennials and bulbs flowering in warm oranges and reds create a special atmosphere throughout the season.

The remaining roof areas above the fourth, fivth and sixt floor get an extensive greening, highlighted from groups of blue iris (Iris barbata-nana) during late spring.
