In the course of the further development of the TU Campus Garching, infrastructure facilities and access to the refectory are being rearranged. For this reason, it was necessary to relocate and rebuild the sports areas for interim use by the university sports department.

In addition to the space requirements, the search for a location also had to take into account requirements for the compatible adjacency of the noise-intensive sports activities with the institute buildings and lecture halls. The sports fields and courts for basketball, beach volleyball and table tennis were integrated into the existing green space. In addition, a bouldering facility was designed for the new location of the sports areas.
