Tripoli is booming! The capital of Libya expands into the countryside & relocating the administrative district, exerts a large influence on the development of the city, with the creation of a new Public Park. Important aspectsl of the Public Park are the existing forest and its topography, used as main characteristics for the future identity & its spatial structure. Needing a balanced relationship between commercial and public functions, which depend on each other, a stable relationship between commercial and public functions is a condition for the Public Park. Here the park life can develop its impressive variety, from a promenade in the shadow of the forest, to the park lake. With the main part of the park situated between the two major roads running in north-south direction, generous parking located at the eastern road & main pathways link together the different spaces of the park. The forest itself is structured by clearings, which take on the different public park functions. In one of the clearings, in the heart of the park, a lake is located, alongside a park restaurant, which forms the transition to the eastern border of the park. A pathway system forms a dense network, with paths leading to places requesting to be used by the visitors. From tea houses in the forest, barbecue areas on lawn, to forest playgrounds you can find everything which constitutes a varied Public Park.
