The structure is well visible from many directions and is prominently located in the Reuss landscape, which is part of the Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments. Therefore, a careful handling and an ecological enhancement of the adjacent riparian areas was an important aspect of the proposed measures.
The bridge is an important crossing point for many local and regional hiking trails and the bicycle route 77, as well as a scenic landmark on the way to the tranquil village of Mühlau.
