Penzberg is redesigning its urban open spaces by integrating former mining areas into a cross-town open space system. The 2028 State Garden Show offers the opportunity to accelerate this transformation. The concept focuses on two main areas: the Bahnbogen with the Penzberg Bahnmeile and the Bachmeile with the renaturalized Säubach. The railroad arch will be transformed into a nature promenade, while the railroad mile between the observation tower and the culvert structure will present themed gardens and cultural activities. The renaturalized Säubach will be designed as a near-natural open space. The 2028 State Garden Show will thus present three characteristic open spaces that reflect the green network and diversity in Penzberg.
