Memminger Osten" is an important, green district of Memmingen close to the old town. Until the end of the 19th century, this area was still predominantly a recreational area, but has since been transformed into a fairly densely populated residential area with numerous commercial areas and businesses - especially on the outskirts.

Particularly against the backdrop of demographic change and immigration pressure - both of which must increasingly be seen in context - Memmingen is not only concerned with securing its hitherto quite good status quo situation, but also with stabilising and expanding urban life in the future. In this context, the east of Memmingen is a priority for action.

Based on a detailed, urban planning and functional analysis of the thematic areas of "housing and living environment", "environment and traffic", "culture, leisure and sport" in the study area, a framework plan and an integrated action concept were developed in an interdisciplinary manner and with the participation of politics, administration and citizens.

The framework plan contains a differentiated presentation of the challenges, qualities and potentials found and formulates goals and measures for future development.
The integrated action plan takes an in-depth look at priority areas and formulates recommendations for action together with a concept of measures and an overview of costs and financing.
